Street Cat Politics

You are Léonard, the biggest cat around with a territory to maintain. You embark on three missions and get to chat with a trio of characters along the way. You may have eccentric allies or disapproving rivals, but you dutifully protect the neighborhood civilians and don’t mind doing some favors.

This game is the developer's very first delve into game development and using Unreal Engine 5.1.1. Street Cat Politics was developed as part of Pixelles Game Incubator XI, an 8-week incubator program for marginalized genders in Montréal, Québec. The developer, Tabitha Durbin, is a junior 3D artist from Augusta, Georgia. With some help from mentors and intense self-study, she independently designed, modeled, animated, and coded every asset and function in the span of 8 weeks or less. This game and the work of 11 other participants were showcased at EA Motive on November 30th, 2023.

Street Cat Politics may receive small updates over time to finalize its gameplay and reach a more fully packaged vision closer to the original design concepts.

14-12-2023 Update: The game now has a win state upon the completion of all three quests! Quest indicators have also been made more visible and more clearly convey their meanings.

The game still lacks any sound, which may be added in the future to finally flesh out the off-beat comedy that would benefit greatly from clonks and breeps.

KNOWN ISSUES: only a few :) :) :)
• Character quest icons (blue question marks) may pop up even when the associated quest is not completed; this does not break the quest, and can go away upon interacting with the NPCs.
• Spanky may "change his mind" and revert to pre-quest dialogue if you respawn after completing his quest. This does not affect the quest completion itself.
